Moi University had conducted its election this morning and now at the end of the day the story changed. Students voted and counting began at 6:30 pm to determine who the lead was and who the tail was. As the counting continued, students remained restless and disturbed. Some had unrealistic egos and some used abusive words. All these were to be expected due to the pressure they all had.
The results were out and this is where the drama unfolds. The fans of the aspirants, who won, such as Brian Denzel Bolo, knew no bounds of their celebration. People shouted as they ran, all sort of noises witnessed and all types of things. New dancing styles I’ve never seen before. Promises were thrown left right in exchange of the demands of the students. Surely, praises can make someone say wonders or rather do wonders.
Some aspirants who lost had to deal with it as some had the pinch since they had spent a lot of money in the campaigns. Some were angry at others as someone once said being famous does not elect you, you have to show people you are worth their votes. Fliers were made some people carried each other while others rode bicycles. Jubilation is always the best part of the election as it is the only time during the whole period you have fun and actually feel proud. This is just a mirror of the society. We as students are creating a small country where we train to become Kenyans who can be accepted by the society after school.
The jubilation swallowed the sorrows as people went to celebrate while drinking. Just a pause, why do people celebrate while drinking? I guess we’ll have to find out soon enough. As a voter and behalf of the voters I am proud to have voted. It’s better to make a mistake you are going to suffer for than letting someone make the same mistake and you’ll also suffer.
